PSG team news and predicted XI vs Bayern Munich in Champions League last 16

All the latest from the Parc des Princes

Paris Saint Germain face the biggest game of their season so far as they head to the Allianz Arena needing to overturn a one goal deficit to progress at the expense of Bayern Munich, and take their place in the Champions League last 8.

Europe’s elite competition remains elusive for the French champions, who were knocked out in the round of 16 last season and finished runners up in 2020. But, with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in their ranks, moments of magic cannot be discounted and with just a slender disadvantage, they will be confident that they can progress against the German Champions.

Here’s how we expect them to line up, plus the latest team news from the Parisian camp.

Predicted XI

Team News

Paris Saint Germain boss Christophe Galtier has some big decisions to make ahead of the trip to the Allianz Arena, with his side needing to win but also knowing the threat that Bayern hold on the counter attack.

He will be without two key players too. Presnel Kimpembe suffered an injury against Marseilles and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Neymar is also expected to miss the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury that requires surgery.

It will likely lead to Danilo Pereira having to fill in at centre-back, something that he has done before for both club and country, while Galtier could well opt for three midfielders and revert to a 3-5-2 in the absence of Neymar, pairing Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe together while providing more solidity in central areas.
