Pep Guardiola reveals ‘ridiculous’ ideas for Manchester derby clash

Pep Guardiola has been discussing the upcoming Manchester derby.

Manchester City and Manchester United are set to clash for the second time this season on Saturday.

The tie will take place at Old Trafford, with the previous encounter in 2022/23 seeing Manchester City put six past United at the Etihad back in October.

However, Manchester United have improved since then and are now sitting 4th in the Premier League with a game in hand on Newcastle and just four points behind City themselves.

Ahead of the game, Pep Guardiola has revealed that he had some ridiculous ideas for facing Manchester United this weekend:

“I have a few ideas, thoughts – ridiculous ones against United – but still I didn’t watch their last games,” Guardiola told reporters.

“I have to see the way they play at home and if they change something. I still have to review it; that is why I don’t have a clear lineup [yet] against United.”

His decision to start the Champions League final vs Chelsea without a natural defensive midfielder being one of the major ones.
