Official: Arsenal star signs new contract until 2027

The Gunners have tied another star down for the future

Arsenal superstar Bukayo Saka has signed a new deal with the club, keeping him in north London until 2027, it has been confirmed.

The young Gunner and England winger has been in excellent form this season, racking up 13 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League, while he has started all but one game for the Gunners in their ultimately failed title push.

Despite Saka’s current deal in north London due to expire in just over a year, there had been little concern among the Arsenal fanbase, with consistent suggestions that the 21-year-old is happy at the Emirates and Saka himself admitting that he “shared confidence” with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta that a new contract could be thrashed out.

Now, the club have confirmed that the 21-year-old has penned fresh terms with the club, which will see him remain with the Gunners until 2027, and earn around £15m per season.

‘There was interest from other clubs in the 21-year-old but he was only ever interested in staying with Arsenal and believes totally in the project Mikel Arteta is building at the Emirates’, the Athletic report.

“It’s great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talents is key to our continued progress and Bukayo represents such an important part of our squad now and for the future”, Mikel Arteta told Arsenal.com.

Saka’s decision to stay follows teammate Martinelli, who penned fresh terms in north London earlier in the season, and continues Arsenal’s good work in tying down their young talent to long-term deals.

They are expected to agree a new deal for William Saliba too, with the impressive Frenchman having become a key part of the Arsenal defence but also out of contract in 2025 as things stand.

One player that they may lose for free, however, is Reiss Nelson, who has reportedly declined a third contract offer from the club and is set to leave when his contract expires this summer.
