Newcastle United team news and predicted XI vs Manchester United

Though the Magpies hit a considerable bump in the road before their back-to-back wins just before the international break, Eddie Howe’s men are still in the thick of the action for a place in the Champions League next season

Newcastle United Team News

  • Out: Miguel Almirón, Emil Krafth, Ryan Fraser (U21′s)
  • Doubt: Sven Botman, Nick Pope, Anthony Gordon, Allan Saint-Maximin

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have enjoyed a recent run of form that could take them back into the top four and will relish the chance of drawing level on points with Sunday opponent Manchester United should they come away with three points in front of home support at St. James’ Park.

The well-liked Magpies manager has a few issues to concern himself with, however, starting with Emil Krafth, who remains sidelined with injury. Ryan Fraser is ostracized from the senior setup and is still training with the U21′s, and will not be available.

Miguel Almirón will be sorely missed as he deals with a thigh injury and covers the rest of the guaranteed absences. Dutch international defender Sven Botman was one of those who suffered from illness during the break but he should be available, while the same holds for first-choice keeper Nick Pope, who likely has recovered from his knock. Anthony Gordon and Allan Saint-Maximin should both be fit but only ASM is expected to start from the pair, while Joelinton is back after his suspension.
