Premier League outfit Newcastle United have, on Thursday, been dealt an altogether concerning blow on the personnel front.
The opening to the latest international break, of course, has proven far from ideal from a Magpies perspective.
First, early this morning, it was revealed that hitman Alexander Isak, fresh off a fine start to life on Tyneside on the back of his big-money summer switch, had been forced to depart the Swedish national camp.
This comes with the talented attacker having picked up an unspecified injury problem.
And now, just hours on, a 2nd source of concern amongst Eddie Howe’s ranks had too been confirmed.
As per a number of sources in his home country of Brazil, Bruno Guimaraes looks set to sit out the Selecao’s friendly meeting with Ghana on Friday, after being forced out of training with a thigh complaint.
It now remains to be seen whether either Isak or Guimaraes face any sort of extended spell on the sidelines, with Newcastle primed to return to action on the back of the international break a week from Saturday, when they make the trip to Craven Cottage for a Premier League meeting with newly-promoted Fulham.
