After their 2-0 defeat at Man United in the Champions League, Benfica are need a miracle to remain in this season’s competition.
The Eagles have lost all four matches in the UCL so far, and they need to beat CSKA Moscow and Basel in their final two matches to stand a chance at reaching the last-16.

Svilar v Man United
In the two matches against Man United, Svilar let in two memorable goals.
In Portugal, the teenager misjudged the flight of a Marcus Rashford free-kick as he caught the ball behind his goalline.
During the match at Old Trafford this week, Svilar scored an unfortunate own goal as a Nemanja Matic shot cannoned off the post, onto his arm, and in.
And yet, Svilar also made history in Manchester. Already the youngest goalie to ever play in the Champions League, he also became the youngest keeper to save a penalty when he denied Anthony Martial’s spot-kick.
Nemanja Matic & Mile Svilar
Could Mile Svilar one day join Man United?
This week on the Totally Football Show, the story was revealed of Nemanja Matic’s special relationship with Benfica’s Svilar.
Born in Belgium, Svilar has Serbian roots.
The goalie learned his trade with Anderlecht, but last summer he made the switch to Benfica.
Benfica, of course, are known for blooding top goalies. In recent seasons the likes of Jan Oblak and Ederson have come to the fore at the Stadium of Light.
According to reports, when Svilar was considering moving to Benfica, he called up Man United’s Nemanja Matic for advice.
Matic also played at Benfica, and the Man United midfielder advised the youngster to sign up for the Eagles.
