Mohamed Salah’s status for Liverpool vs Arsenal confirmed

Liverpool face off with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool head into the game on a poor run of form. A 7-0 win over Manchester United has been greatly overshadowed by a shock 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth and a 7-1 hammering at the hands of rivals, Manchester City.

The Reds’ last outing, meanwhile, saw them held to a 0-0 draw vs Chelsea in a tie the Blues probably should have won fairly easily.

Liverpool are 8th in the Premier League ahead of the weekend’s action and a full 10 points off 4th place with no games in hand on Manchester United, meaning Champions League football next season is already off the table.

The Merseysiders are three points of 6th, which would give them Europa League football. However, Brighton have a game in hand are in much better form at present.

Liverpool’s opponents this weekend are also the league’s in-form team, winning their last five and having lost just three PL matches all season.

Things were seemingly getting even worse for Liverpool on Thursday when key man Mohamed Salah, who did not start on Tuesday vs Chelsea, missed training.

“Virgil is back in training, Luis and Thiago training completely normal,” Klopp said. “The plan for Luis is that he will be 100 per cent available for Leeds. We will probably not involve him for Sunday. Thiago is slightly different and might be available.”
