Mikel Arteta tells Bukayo Saka what he must improve

Mikel Arteta has sent a message to Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal took on Bodo/Glimt away from home in their third Europa League tie of the season.

Mikel Arteta made a lot of changes for the match, but Arsenal were still able to come away with a 1-0 win.

Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game 24 minutes in, with Arsenal now sat top of their group with nine points.

Despite Saka scoring the winner on Thursday, Mikel Arteta has since outlined what the Englishman can improve on:

“He had moments in the game where he was really good and then moments he can improve and demand more of himself, especially defensively,” Arteta said.

“There were moments where we allowed their left full-back to progress the play and break our press too easily. There are a lot of things to improve.”

Elsewhere, Arteta was also asked about what Arsenal can expect from Leeds United this season:

“I think with Jesse, the teams they’ve played, it’s very clear what he wants to do. Really intense and dynamic team, really good teams every time they have spaces to attack. It’s some similarities, obviously every coach has his own book but what Jesse has done I think, in the time he’s been there, is really impressive.”

Arsenal face Leeds on Sunday and are well aware anything but a win would likely see Manchester City knock them off top spot in the Premier League.
