Could Allegri replace Solskjaer shortly?
Manchester United are reportedly ‘very close’ to agreeing a deal with former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri, to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It’s not been a great start to the season for United.
Despite getting their campaign underway with a 4-0 win over Chelsea, Manchester United find themselves 12th in the Premier League table.
They’ve also only won one of their last five games.
Poor performances against the likes of Crystal Palace, Southampton, West Ham, Rochdale and Newcastle have essentially piled the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
As a result, reports are starting to crop up about possible replacements.
Now, outlets in Italy are suggesting that former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri could actually be close to a move to Manchester United.
Allegri ‘very close’ to Man United.
According to Tuttosport, ‘Massimiliano Allegri is very close to Manchester United’.
They claim that the ‘situation is falling and contacts with Allegri have intensified’.
Their report continues by explaining that there is an offer on the table of 7.5 million euros-per-year, which is more than he earned at Juventus.
It’s revealed that Tottenham have also ‘showed up’, which you would assume means that they have an interest in him.
Finally, Allegri has supposedly asked for any moves to be resolved quickly, so that he has the necessary time ‘to revive a season that already appears to be very compromised’.
While Tuttosport claim that there are concrete links between Allegri and Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was recently given the vote of confidence, according to other reports.
But, should Manchester United perform poorly against Liverpool in their next match, you wouldn’t bet against them pulling the trigger.
