Marquinhos injury update ahead of PSG’s showdown with Bayern Munich

An update on the wellbeing of Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos has been provided late on Sunday evening.

For those not aware, versatile defender Marquinhos set pulses racing across the PSG fanbase 24 hours ago.

This came upon the Brazilian limping out of the club’s eventual Ligue 1 downing of Nantes.

Inside the closing quarter of an hour at the Parc des Princes, Marquinhos emerged from a challenge much the worse, ultimately culminating in his being forced into a premature departure from the action.

Speaking post-match, PSG headmaster Christophe Galtier was keen to play the seriousness of the issue down.

This, of course, comes as the French champions prepare for the 2nd-leg of their crunch Champions League Last-16 showdown with Bayern Munich.

Marquinhos, as a result, is understood to be suffering from considerable ongoing pain.

In a boost for all associated with the Ligue 1 heavyweights, though, it is assured that the former AS Roma standout will nevertheless be available to feature from the off at the Allianz Arena this coming Wednesday night.
