Marcus Rashford explains his celebration during England vs Wales

Marcus Rashford scored a brace as England smashed Wales on Tuesday evening.

England and Wales played out their final group game of the World Cup on Tuesday.

England were likely already through no matter the result on Tuesday, whilst Wales needed a comfortable win and results elsewhere to go their way.

But when all was said and done, the Three Lions cut apart Wales to secure a 3-0 win.

England were slow to get going and lacked some creative spark in the first 45, but kicked into gear as the tie wore on.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick before Phil Foden got on the end of a Harry Kane cross to make it two.

Rashford then added his second and England’s third of the match to kill off any hope of a comeback from Wales.

England will now face Senegal in the last-16 of the World Cup on Sunday.

Following the Wales game, Marcus Rashford has revealed he dedicated his celebration to a friend who recently passed: “I lost one of my friends a couple of days ago. He had quite a long battle with cancer. I’m pleased I scored for him, he was a big supporter and good friend of mine. He was someone who came into my life.”
