Marco Silva gives update on Andre Gomes move amid Spurs links

Everton boss Marco Silva has given an update on the club’s pursuit of Andre Gomes, amid suggestions that Tottenham have moved to sign the midfielder.

Gomes has proven a shrewd loan signing for Everton.

The Portuguese midfielder was out of favour at Barcelona when the Toffees moved to sign him on loan, following the permanent signings of Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne.

Now, he’s enjoying football again with Everton.

Gomes has been pivotal in Marco Silva’s new system with the Toffees, thoroughly impressing the club’s fans.

As a result, Everton are now looking to sign Gomes on a permanent basis. However, they aren’t the only ones.

According to a new report on Friday, Tottenham are closing in on signing him.

Inter Milan and AS Roma have also been linked with moves recently.

Now, Marco Silva has given an update on Everton’s pursuit of Gomes.

“He hasn’t decided anything about his future, his agent also”

Speaking ahead of Everton’s clash with Tottenham this weekend, Silva explained that Gomes is yet to make a decision on his future.

“The only feedback I’ve had until now is from Andre and what he’s said to me, because our relationship has been really honest since the first day,” Silva revealed, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“He hasn’t decided anything about his future, his agent also. That’s what I can say to you.

“We’ve already talked about not just him but Zouma also, and now it’s up to us to show that ambition.”

The reports linking Spurs with a move for Gomes continue to grow.
