The Manchester United faithful have flooded to social media on Sunday evening, to make their feelings regarding midfield star Scott McTominay crystal clear.
McTominay, of course, was afforded his latest starting berth a short time ago.
With midfield standout Casemiro unavailable for selection owing to suspension, the Scot was surprisingly chosen over Fred to join Christian Eriksen in Man United’s midfield for a trip to Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.
Across the 90 minutes, though, McTominay struggled in efforts to prove himself worthy of the faith of boss Erik ten Hag.
Drowned out by Arsenal’s relentless nature both in and out of possession, the 26-year-old found himself reduced to something of a passenger en route to an eventual 3-2 defeat.
And, as alluded to above, the United faithful, in turn, have since gone on to make their feelings regarding McTominay’s place at the club very much known.
Taking to Twitter in their absolute droves, those of a Red Devils persuasion have sent a message to the powers that be at Old Trafford, voicing the collective opinion that the Scottish international is simply not of the level required for a club with sights set on a return to the very top of the European game:
