Manchester City best Manchester United to set impressive Premier League record during Newcastle clash

Manchester City faced off with Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester City headed into the game knowing that they had to win to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.

League leaders Arsenal went five points clear atop of the Premier League in midweek after they beat Everton in their game in hand.

As a result, a City loss on Saturday could see the Gunners open up an eight-point gap before the weekend is over.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have slipped down to 5th in the league and were winless in five ahead of kick-off at the Etihad.

At the time of writing, Manchester City are 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Phil Foden in the 14th minute.

Following that goal, it has been revealed that Manchester City have set a Premier League record.

That record has, of course, now been broken after Foden’s opening strike.

Who has kept the most clean sheets in a single Premier League season?

Which club has Lionel Messi scored the most goals against?
