The brother of Everton star Michael Keane is in line to take his place in the boardroom of Manchester United, according to reports.

The info comes by way of the Daily Mail, who have revealed that Tom Keane has been chosen as the man to step in for Matt Judge, primed to depart Old Trafford this summer.

Judge had long acted as the Red Devils' chief transfer negotiator, to an altogether varying degree of success.

After handing in his resignation, though, the powers that be on the red half of Manchester were forced to seek out a replacement, with the aforementioned Keane, a solicitor for Brandsmiths, primed to arrive in short order:

'Sportsmail understands solicitor Tom Keane, from legal firm Brandsmiths, is joining the Old Trafford club in a consultancy role from next month.'

Though Keane is not expected to take on all of the responsibilities previously overseen by Judge, he will play a 'significant role' at the club moving forward.

Chief amongst such roles will come the negotiation of both transfers and player contracts, of course set to prove crucial this summer amid the ongoing rebuild efforts of new head coach Erik ten Hag.

Brandsmiths' official website features the following description of Keane's talents:

'In sport, Tom has vast experience in the football industry where he has become a trusted advisor and representative for household name players, managers and pundits.

'His work for these clients includes negotiating high-value transfers, contracts and endorsement agreements.'
