Man United fans send David de Gea message to board after howler vs Everton

Supporters of Premier League giants Manchester United have taken to social media in their droves on Friday evening, to send a crystal clear message to the powers that be at the club.

The Red Devils, of course, are currently locked in action.

After making it a trio of victories on the spin courtesy of a three-goal downing of Bournemouth earlier in the week, Erik ten Hag’s troops have turned their attentions towards matters in the FA Cup.

Frank Lampard’s Everton are the latest visitors to Old Trafford, eyeing a bounce-back result after being utterly embarrassed by Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.

And, as things stand with 45 minutes on the clock, the Toffees remain in with a very real shot of precisely that.

This comes with the two sides locked at a goal apiece.

Less than ten minutes later, though, Everton were back on level terms, and with more than a helping hand from a key member of Man United’s first-choice XI.

The individual in question? David de Gea.

After Neal Maupay was slipped in down the right, the Toffees hitman’s attempted delivery across the face of goal should have been easily collected by the hosts’ shot-stopper.

De Gea, though, inexplicably allowed the ball to slip between his legs, opening the door for Conor Coady to slot home into an empty net:

And the ensuing reaction on the part of the Manchester United faithful has since been as swift as it has ruthless.

As showcased below, despite his long-standing improved form, calls have spread like wildfire for the transfer team at Old Trafford to seek out an immediate replacement for David de Gea:
