Liverpool are currently locked in action with Marco Silva’s Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Merseysiders headed into the game as the clear favourites. However, the opening of the game showed that Fulham will be no pushover this season.
Silva had his side set up to press high and win the ball back as quickly as possible. This worked very well against a Liverpool side who frankly didn’t look to be at the races.
As a result, it was not too surprising to see Liverpool concede the opening goal of the tie.
Kenny Tete burst down Liverpool’s left flank before whipping in an excellent ball, which was then headed home by Aleksandar Mitrovic:

Following Fulham’s opener, Trent Alexander-Arnold has received a fair bit of criticism online for his role in the goal.
