Liverpool star removes club from social media bio as speculation around future increases

The Reds could be set to lose another player this summer

Fans have been sent into panic after Liverpool star Thiago removed any reference to the club from his social media bio on Monday.

The Spaniard, who was restricted to just 18 Premier League appearances last season through injury, has been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent weeks.

This speculation has only been fuelled further by Jurgen Klopp’s dealings in the transfer market, which has seen the arrival of midfield duo Alexis Mac Allister (£55m from Brighton) and Dominik Szoboszlai (£60m from RB Leipzig) as the German looks to overhaul a midfield that finished a disappointing fifth last season.

Often injured, 32-year-old Thiago’s place in the Reds side is looking more uncertain than in any of the three seasons since he joined the club, with yet more midfield additions expected before the summer transfer window is over.

It has led to question marks over how Thiago, undoubtedly world-class on his day but too often sidelined, will fit in next season, and even suggestions that he may depart Anfield altogether.

The Spaniard has now, intentionally or not, fanned the flames of that speculation by taking any reference to Liverpool out of his instagram bio, though pictures of him in Liverpool shirts still remain strewn across his profile.

He adds that ‘Fenerbahçe [are] among a host of clubs considering a move for the Spanish international’, who has one year left to run on his current deal at Liverpool, meaning that should he not leave this summer he could well depart for free in 12 months.
