Liverpool fans will love Roberto Firmino’s comments on young Red

Roberto Firmino has been full of praise for Liverpool youngster, Fabio Carvalho.

The 20-year-old moved to Anfield over the course of the summer, months after the club initially tried to sign him from Fulham.

The midfielder has since made six appearances so far this season, scoring a dramatic winner against Newcastle United, making quite the impact on Merseyside.

Now, Liverpool veteran Roberto Firmino has been full of praise for his new teammate. The Brazilian labelled him a star and a close friend:

“I confess that I had watched some of his games before he came to Liverpool, so I was already impressed by the way he played,” Firmino told Liverpool’s official website.

“He’s a star, he’s a great player and now he’s also a very close friend. We are happy to have him here at Liverpool and I know he will help us a lot, with assists, goals and also his character on the pitch.”

Following Carvalho’s bright start to life with Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has been proven right.

“I’m really happy to have him, so it’s very important for us because we count on this age group as well. We don’t wait now until they are 22, 23 or whatever and use them.

“No, no, no. He is ready like Harvey is ready in the similar age group. That’s really cool. We all need luck in life as well with injury and stuff like this, but without that he will be a really important player for us.”
