Chelsea legend John Terry has taken to social media on Friday, to send a welcome message to the newest member of the Blues’ defensive ranks.
The player in question? Wesley Fofana.
Stopper Fofana, of course, finally sealed a long-awaited Stamford Bridge switch on transfer deadline day, bringing a close to a lengthy saga spanning much of the summer window.
The Frenchman, it is understood, has set Chelsea back a sum in the region of £70 million, plus a further 5 million in bonuses.

In turn, it is safe to say that the pressure will be on Fofana to perform, expected to prove a leading light in Thomas Tuchel’s backline in west London for years to come.
And one individual with plenty of experience in leading the defensive ranks at Chelsea is evidently of the opinion that the 21-year-old is very much up to the task.
And, after first hailing the one-time Saint-Etienne talent as a ‘top young defender’, Terry went on to plead for patience on the part of the Pensioners faithful, before concluding with a simple message of ‘good luck’:
@Wesley_Fofanaa Welcome to @ChelseaFC 💙
Top young defender, I really like him and hope he can stay fit, it also might take a few weeks to get his match fitness back up.
Good Luck mate 👊🏻💙 pic.twitter.com/8U74xSWFHi— John Terry (@JohnTerry26) September 2, 2022
