Updates on the wellbeing of no fewer than four members of Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona squad have been forthcoming late on Thursday.
Barca, of course, today find themselves still reeling from nothing short of an embarrassing defeat on Wednesday night.
After carrying a slender one-goal advantage into the 2nd-leg of the club’s Copa del Rey semi-final showdown with Clasico rivals Real Madrid, the Blaugrana were ultimately sent packing from the competition.
This came owing to an alarming 4-0 drubbing, headlined by a Karim Benzema hat-trick at the Camp Nou.

Xavi and co, however, will be afforded little time to sit around and lick their wounds.
This comes with the Catalan giants set to kick their push for the La Liga title back into gear in just days’ time.
And, as alluded to above, late on Thursday, an insight into the wellbeing of no fewer than four members of the Blaugrana’s squad has been provided.
The players in question? Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen.
The info comes courtesy of Spanish journalist Javi Miguel, who has revealed that all of the quartet are set to be unavailable for selection once more on Monday.
De Jong, though, appears closest to a return, potentially set to feature against Getafe next weekend.
Midfield partner Pedri, meanwhile, is also closing on a comeback, albeit likely a week later, when the Catalans play host to Atletico Madrid.
Both Dembele and Christensen are also eyeing the Atleti clash as a potential return date, as Xavi’s squad inches towards full fitness ahead of the season’s run-in.
The return of the injured players:
– Frenkie de Jong: Expected to be available against Getafe
– Pedri: Between Getafe and Atletico Madrid
– Dembele: Atletico Madrid
– Christensen: Between Atlético Madrid and Rayo Vallecano
