Decision time for Arteta: Arsenal handed major injury boost before Watford

The latest photos stemming from the training ground of Premier League giants Arsenal have hinted at a sizable boost on the personnel front.

Gunners firing on all cylinders

Mikel Arteta’s men are of course in the midst of a fine spell of form.

On the back of a harrowing opening to the campaign, which saw them slip to defeat in each of their first three league outings, the Gunners have since bounced back in a major way.

A 2-0 downing of Leicester City last weekend made it nine unbeaten across all competitions, a stretch which included impressive wins over the likes of north London rivals Tottenham, and Aston Villa, too.

Next up for Arteta and co., meanwhile, comes a Premier League meeting with Watford this weekend.

In their final pre-international break outing, the capital outfit will welcome Claudio Ranieri’s Hornets to the Emirates, aiming to push ever-closer towards the top-4.

Tierney latest

And, as outlined above, ahead of Sunday’s fast-approaching clash, this evening, Arsenal have been handed a boost.

This comes on the personnel front, in the form of Kieran Tierney’s return to training.

As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, Scottish stopper Tierney, who has not featured since a 2-2 stalemate with Crystal Palace on October 18th owing to an ankle injury, has now joined back up with first-team training at London Colney.

This could yet hand Mikel Arteta something of a dilemma, with Tierney of course the long-standing first-choice left-back on the red half of north London.

Summer arrival Nuno Tavares, though, has thoroughly impressed in the former Celtic man’s place over the last couple of weeks, culminating in calls for the Portuguese to maintain his starting berth for the time being.

Will Arteta return to the tried and tested? Or hand Tavares a chance to prove his worth once more against Watford?
