Concerning Gabriel Martinelli injury update surfaces after Arsenal’s defeat to Brighton

A concerning update on the wellbeing of Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has come to the fore late on Sunday evening.

For those who may have missed it, wide-man Martinelli set pulses racing across the Arsenal fanbase a short time ago.

This came upon the Brazilian being forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion.

En route to a three-goal drubbing, which all but ended the Gunners’ Premier League title hopes, Martinelli lasted just 20 minutes, before succumbing to an ankle concern suffered owing to a heavy challenge on the part of Moises Caicedo.

And the ensuing news regarding the status of the 21-year-old post-match has not proven to be of a particularly comforting nature.

In fact, as confirmed by a number of reliable sources, Martinelli was spotted leaving The Emirates on Sunday evening with his left foot strapped in a protective boot.

With just two games remaining in Arsenal’s Premier League season, though, it now looks a real possibility that Martinelli has already made his final appearance of the term.
