Compared: Erling Haaland’s first Man City month vs Luis Suarez’s all-time PL record

A head-turning statistic, comparing the respective goalscoring records of Manchester City star Erling Haaland, and 5-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, has come to the fore on Tuesday evening.

Norwegian sensation Haaland , of course, has positioned himself at the forefront of the English media headlines over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes owing to the remarkable start to life enjoyed by the 22-year-old on the books of Premier League champions Man City.

Since landing at the Etihad in a big-money summer switch from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has lined out in England’s top-flight on six occasions.

And, across these appearances, the prolific hitman has managed to find the net on no fewer than 10 occasions.

Nine of these goals came in the month of August, Haaland’s first in the competition.

And such a stunning haul has since given rise to the most baffling of statistics.

As per statisticians Opta, Haaland’s debut month haul has, across the 30 years of Premier League football to date, only ever been bettered by one player.

This came in December of 2013, when Luis Suarez established himself as the only player in England’s top-flight to reach double figures for goals in a single month:
