A fresh insight into the ongoing contract negotiations between the powers that be at Chelsea and midfield star N’Golo Kante has been provided late on Thursday.
The future of French international Kante, of course, has proven something of a hot topic at Stamford Bridge for some time now.
This comes with the former Leicester City standout having entered the final year of his contract.
In turn, murmurs had long begun to spread that Kante could ultimately be on the move next summer, amid understandable interest in his services from across the continent.
If the latest word stemming from the media late on Friday is anything to go by, though, then in fact, Kante could be set to spring a surprise, in committing his long-term future to Chelsea.
As per a report from the reliable David Ornstein of The Athletic, ‘positive progress’ has been found in the most recent discussions between the Blues and their World Cup winning star.
‘Increasing confidence’, in turn, is spreading that as much will be found following the turn of the year.
