Chelsea concern as Man City open talks with highly-regarded Blues starlet

Alarm bells have begun sounding at Chelsea, on the back of confirmation that one of the club’s most gifted up-and-coming prospects has entered into negotiations with Manchester City.

The player in question? Jude Soonsup-Bell.

For those not aware, Soonsup-Bell is an 18-year-old England youth international, who has been honing his craft with Chelsea since making the move to west London from Swindon Town back in 2016.

A striker by trade, the teenage prodigy has piqued widespread attentions over the course of the last couple of seasons, owing to his head-turning exploits in the Blues’ youth setup.

A 14-goal haul in 16 appearances at U18-level in 2020/21 culminated in Soonsup-Bell being rewarded with a spot in the U21 ranks last season, since going from strength to strength.

In turn, as alluded to above, it will come as a major source of concern for all associated with Chelsea to hear of the club’s gifted young attacker leaning towards a potential exit.

As per a report from the reliable Nizaar Kinsella of the Evening Standard, representatives from Premier League champions Manchester City have entered into official negotiations with Soonsup-Bell and his team of representatives.

This comes with the Sky Blues working towards a free agent agreement, ahead of the expiration of the Chippenham native’s terms in London next summer.

Kinsella goes as far as to suggest that the powers that be at Chelsea now ‘expect to lose their talented forward’.

Midfielder Charlie Webster, meanwhile, could too be on the move, having opted to rebuff a series of contract proposals in the English capital.
