Brighton team news and predicted XI vs Chelsea

The Seagulls are sure be motivated at the weekend on their return to the capital one week removed from their controversial loss against Tottenham, with European football still very much on the line for the south coast club

Brighton Team News

  • Out: Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, Jeremy Sarmiento, Levi Colwill (cannot face parent club)
  • Doubt: Tariq Lamptey

Roberto De Zerbi’s high-flying Brighton was left reeling after last weekend, as once again the south coast club was the subject of yet another apology from PMGOL in the wake of multiple failures from VAR and its operating team during their 2-1 loss against Tottenham; one that could go on to make the difference in their push for European football in 2023-23 under the gifted Italian tactician.

Despite the frustration, the club remains just one point off the European places with two matches in hand over those ahead of them, and will possibly relish the chance to pile misery on Chelsea’s situation on the domestic front when they return to the capital on Saturday.

For De Zerbi, Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, and Jeremy Sarmiento are all out with injuries, while highly-touted center-back Levi Colwill cannot be counted on due to an inability to feature against his parent club. Thankfully for De Zerbi, all of his key contributors are available for selection, and he could be reinforced by Tariq Lamptey if the Ghanaian international pass an upcoming late assessment.
