Champions League preview: Bayern Munich vs Tottenham

Tottenham got themselves back on track under Jose Mourinho as they trashed Burnley 5-0 on Saturday.

Following their first defeat under their new boss at Old Trafford, Spurs responded in emphatic fashion.

Heung-min Son’s outstanding solo goal paid testament to the lift the Portuguese head coach has brought to the club.

Last time these two sides met, the north London club were humiliated by the German champions.

But having already reached the last 16, Mourinho can use this game as a chance to bring in some of the youngsters.

Troy Parrott, Oliver Skipp and Ryan Sessegnon all came off the bench on Saturday and could feature at the Allianz Arena.

Japhet Tanganga is another player who could make an appearance, whilst Giovani Lo Celso is expected to get some much-needed game time.

Bayern continue to struggle

Having run riot in north London, many Spurs supporters will be shocked to learn that Bayern are currently sat 7th in the Bundesliga.

Despite their perfect record in Europe, the Bavarians have lost four of their last 8 games in the league.

The reigning German champions trail Bundesliga leaders Monchengladbach by seven points.

Gladbach beat Bayern on Saturday in a stunning match where the home side came from 1-0 down to win in the final seconds of the encounter.

Hans-Dieter Flick is expected to remain in charge until the end of the season but the pressure is mounting on the interim manager.

Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele are both doubts having missed the win against Burnley with injuries.
