Supporters of Spanish giants Barcelona have taken to social media in their absolute numbers on Sunday evening, to sing the praises of one member of Xavi Hernandez’s squad.

The Blaugrana, of course, are currently locked in action.

After watching Clasico rivals Real Madrid make short work of Sevilla on Saturday, Xavi and co. welcomed Athletic Club to the Camp Nou, hopeful of closing the gap on the table-topping Los Blancos to just three points once more.

And, late in the action in Catalunya, all three points is precisely what the evening’s hosts look headed towards.

This comes with Barca in possession of a four-goal lead, owing, largely, to an explosive opening to proceedings.

Within the opening 22 minutes of action at the Camp Nou, Barcelona had raced out to a 3-0 advantage, owing to goals on the part of all of Ousmane Dembele, Sergi Roberto and Robert Lewandowski.

Despite impressive performances across the board thus far on the Blaugrana side of things, though, it is one member of Xavi’s squad who has firmly stolen the headlines.

The player in question? Ousmane Dembele.

French international Dembele came out of the blocks on fire on Sunday, opening the scoring courtesy of a rare headed finish, before, remarkably, teeing up all three of his side’s ensuing goals, too.

And such endeavours on the part of the explosive wide-man have since given rise to quite the reaction across social media.

Taking to Twitter in force, many of a Barca persuasion have gone as far as to label Dembele the world’s best in his position, with just some of the highlights showcased below:
