Bad for Denis Suarez: Arsenal line up Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser

Arsenal & Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser

The Times on Tuesday have a new transfer rumour linking Arsenal and Bournemouth.

According to the broadsheet, Arsenal are interested in signing Scottish international Ryan Fraser.

Fraser is under contract with Bournemouth until 2020.

Unfortunately the Times fail to state how much Arsenal would be willing to spend on the 25-year-old.

It’s been an excellent season for Fraser, who has scored six league goals and chipped in with 10 assists for the Cherries.

Gunners recruitment plans

The Times also drop a series of eye-catching comments in their Arsenal, Ryan Fraser report.

Arsenal fans are told that manager Unai Emery is “drawing up a list of new options to improve the threat from the flanks.”

What should fans deduce from that statement regarding the current crop of wide-men at the Emirates Stadium?

For what it’s worth, the Mirror reported last week that Emery is ready to sell both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mesut Ozil this off-season.

Another note in the Times outlined how much money Arsenal have to spend in the summer. Fans are told:

Arsenal are unlikely to make a huge transfer kitty available to Emery, who also wants an aggressive, box-to-box midfielder to replace Aaron Ramsey, who is joining Juventus in the summer.

Bad news for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez

The final upshot of the Ryan Fraser links relates to Denis Suarez.

Suarez has barely been used by Emery since the midfielder joined from Barcelona in January.

What seems clear is that Suarez hasn’t cut it in north London.

Although Arsenal secured an option to sign Suarez on a permanent deal, the midfielder seems certain to return to the Camp Nou once his loan deal expires.
