Arsenal are under pressure to insert a release clause into any new contract for star man Bukayo Saka, according to reports.

Saka, 20, has been one of Arsenal’s best players across the 2021/22 campaign and, whilst the Champions League now looks to be nothing more than a pipe dream, the Gunners are set to secure a 5th-placed Premier League finish at the very least – a huge improvement on their 8th-placed finishes in the previous two campaigns.

Saka, for his part, has been instrumental to that, scoring 11 and assisting six in the league whilst also forming a great understanding with Martin Odegaard at the heart of the Gunners’ attack.

But, given his age, talent and the fact that he plays for an Arsenal side no longer at the top of the English game, the north Londoners may have a hard time keeping hold of their young prodigy.

Saka is under contract at the Emirates until 2024, with the Gunners understood to be working on a new deal for the winger.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are being put under increasing pressure to include a release clause in any new contract that they propose to Bukayo Saka, with formal talks with the attacker's representatives due to start at the end of the season.
