Arsenal readying new contract for Martin Odegaard amid fine form

Arsenal are preparing a new contract for club captain Martin Odegaard in the wake of his scintillating form this season, it has been reported, as the Gunners look to tie down all of their stars to long-term deals at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Martinelli has already been rewarded with a new contract this season, and there is significant optimism about both Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, with the pair locked in talks over new deals to reflect their new standing at the club.

There have also been reports that Granit Xhaka could be rewarded with a new deal at the Emirates in the coming months, having been revitalised in his new midfield role under Mikel Arteta.

And, as per Football Transfers, it is not set to stop there either, with Martin Odegaard next in line for a new contract in north London, which he has previously described as ‘home’.

The Gunners captain is currently under contract until 2025, but has been in excellent form this season with 10 goals and seven assists to his name in 27 Premier League outings, and is set to be rewarded accordingly.

Any new deal is expected to see him ‘handed a substantial pay rise’, while the Gunners want to tie his future at the club down until 2030, when he will be 31.

The Norwegian midfielder helped his side to a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace to take Arsenal eight points clear at the top of the Premier League last weekend, where they will stay until at least April 15th, longer still if they continue their excellent form.

With a sizeable gap and just 10 games left to play, there is real belief across north London that they are entering into a golden era under Arteta, something that tying down Odegaard would help cement.
