Arsenal ‘NOT in negotiations’ with 25m man despite transfer reports

The Gunners were thought to be in talks, but that has been debunked

Arsenal are ‘not in negotiations’ with Turkish side Galatasaray over defender Sacha Boey despite reports claiming that a deal was advancing, it has been confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old Frenchman, yet to be capped at senior level, has caught the eye this season in his 29 outings for Gala, grabbing a goal and an assist from right back as he has helped his side plot their course towards another Turkish league title.

Having seen a move to Lyon break down in January, Boey is almost certain to leave the Turkish side this summer, and has even changed agents to make a move happen amid interest from the Premier League.

Now represented by CAA Stellar, who also represent the likes of Jack Grealish and Real Madrid youngster Eduardo Camavinga, it had been reported that the Gunners had already tabled a bid for the youngster in an attempt to shore up their defence ahead of the new season.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has poured cold water on reports that Arsenal may be about to land the defender, taking to Twitter to explain that ‘Arsenal have not made any proposal for Sacha Boey at this stage’ and that the defender is rather ‘one of many players appreciated’ by the north London side.

As it stands, Arsenal are short at fullback, with Takehiro Tomiyasu not set to be back until the start of the new season following a knee injury, while Cedric is determined to fight for his place when he returns from his loan at Fulham, but it seems far more likely that he will once again be moved on this summer.
