Klopp is leaving the Reds after nine years in charge and with a handful of silverware, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Slot is a known winner as well, guiding Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title last season.

Speaking ahead of his last game in charge, Slot said: “I can confirm that I will become the trainer there next year.”

A compensation deal worth around £9.4million is due to be paid to the Dutch side to buy him out of his contract.

He leaves having won the Dutch League Cup with the Eredivisie club this season and is set to finish second in the league, behind champions PSV Eindhoven.
