Antonio Conte’s press conferences have come under a lot of scrutiny recently for his comments on a wide range of subjects.
The Italian has often provided some rather controversial and eyebrow-raising responses during his interviews.
But during today’s press conference, Conte explained why others at English clubs should also speak to the media, like in Italy.
Conte: “In England, there is a bad habit where only coaches speak (publicly)!”

Conte actually makes a really interesting point that it is ridiculous that just the manager faces the media in England.
For instance, a club’s director of football would be much better placed to answer questions about transfers and the club’s strategy.
A club’s medical department would be much better placed to answer questions about injured players.
Conte said: “In England, I think there’s a bad habit that it’s only the coach talks and explains.
“I’ve never seen the medical department coming here to explain.
“It’s the same I’ve never seen the club or the sporting director coming here to explain the strategy of the club.
“In Italy, before every game there’s a person from the club that goes to speak to the media.
“I think for us it could be really better, otherwise, there’s only one face to explain the situation that I think is better for the club to explain.”
