Alarming Andre Onana stat surfaces after Man United’s defeat to Brighton

A head-turning statistic, highlighting the struggles of Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, has come to the fore online on Saturday evening.

Both United, and Onana, were of course back in action earlier this afternoon.

Fresh off a disheartening 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in their final outing prior to the international break, United welcomed Brighton & Hove Albion to Old Trafford, eyeing a return to winning ways.

When all was said and done, however, things instead went from bad to worse for the Red Devils.

Owing to strikes on the part of all of Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross, and Joao Pedro, Erik ten Hag’s troops were put to the sword by three goals to one for the 2nd game in succession.

And, as alluded to above, in the aftermath of Saturday’s action in Manchester, an alarming statistic, highlighting the ongoing struggles of one member of United’s first-choice XI across the season to date has come to the fore.

Shot-stopper Onana, of course, opted to take his talents to Old Trafford this summer, in a big-money move from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

The Cameroonian was expected to act as an immediate upgrade to the outgoing David de Gea, fresh off what proved a stellar season in Italy.

To this point, however, though he has done exactly that with the ball at his feet, Onana has not exactly set the world alight when it comes to keeping the ball out of his net.

In fact, the 27-year-old has allowed seven goals from 10 shots on target in the Premier League.
