Ajax star set to leave with Arsenal one of four clubs chasing his signature

The Gunners are among several Premier League sides keen on the Ghanaian

Ajax star Mohamed Kudus is set to leave the club this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United among those thought to be interested in landing the 22-year-old before the new season kicks off.

The Athletic report that Kudus ‘rejected a one-year extension in April, and has made the Dutch side aware of his intention to exit once the window opens on June 10’, which has alerted several clubs to his availability.

It is not the first time that the young attacker has made his intentions clear, having gone on strike last summer in an attempt to force through a move to Everton on transfer deadline day, only for Ajax to refuse to part ways with him having already lost Antony.

This summer, however, he will get his wish, with the Ghana star out of contract in 2024 and Ajax likely to sell while his value remains high.

According to the report, ‘it is expected to require a fee of around £40million ($49.8m)’ to land Kudus, who has scored 11 times so far in the Eredivisie this season.

Playing mostly as a winger and attacking midfielder for Ajax, he showed his versatility at the World Cup when he was deployed as a deeper midfielder for Ghana, and could prove a valuable option in plenty of engine rooms.

However, ‘while other candidates may be above him on their transfer lists at present, the 22-year-old is admired’, it is reported, which could see him get a move to the Premier League as the summer window develops, with plenty of competition expected for his signature should rumours of him being on the move begin.
