Preview for Brighton v Arsenal
Brighton welcome Premier League champions Arsenal to the Amex Stadium on Saturday, with the Gunners looking to maintain their perfect start to the season.
Mikel Arteta’s side have won all seven of their matches across all competitions in 2026-27, while Brighton have also enjoyed an encouraging start and head into the weekend after back-to-back wins.
Arsenal maintained their perfect Premier League record last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Bruno Guimaraes opened the scoring before Bukayo Saka converted from the penalty spot, while David Raya also played a key role by saving Enzo Le Fee’s spot-kick.
The result gave Arsenal four wins from four at the start of a Premier League season for only the fourth time, following similar starts in 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2022-23.
Brighton will provide a stern test, however, after Fabian Hurzeler’s side put Coventry City to the sword in a 5-0 Premier League win last weekend.
Lewis Dunk scored an outstanding long-range effort, while Charalampos Kostoulas, Malick Yalcouye, Yasin Ayari and Pascal Gross were also on the scoresheet.
The result took Brighton’s league tally to 13 goals, the highest total in the Premier League at the time, and moved them up to fifth in the table.
The Seagulls followed that result with another impressive win in midweek, recovering from two goals down to beat Manchester United 3-2 at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup.
Brighton have now scored at least four goals in four of their last five matches, although their record against Arsenal will provide a reminder of the challenge facing them.
The Gunners are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Brighton and completed the league double over the Seagulls last season.

Team News for Brighton v Arsenal
Arsenal are expected to make several changes from the side that started against Ipswich in midweek.
Jurrien Timber was left out of the EFL Cup squad as a precaution after recently returning from injury and should be available to face Brighton.
Piero Hincapie, Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera are all doubts, while William Saliba remains sidelined with a back problem.
