Aston Villa are in Belgium tonight looking for their first win of the season against Club Brugge.
Defeats to Brighton and Arsenal, followed by the weekend draw at Hull, have cast an air of despondency over Villa Park, as have the numerous departures following the club’s Europa League triumph in May.
Club Brugge have won four of five in the Belgian First Division and will see this as an opportunity.
The teams met in the Champions League two seasons ago with Club Brugge winning a league phase clash at home before Villa won home and away in the round of 16.
