Tottenham have confirmed that centre-back Kevin Danso will join the club permanently from Lens when the summer transfer window opens on Sunday.

The Austria international, 26, originally signed on loan in February and featured in 10 Premier League games as well as the Europa League final victory over Manchester United.

The permanent transfer will cost Spurs £21 million.

In a statement, Spurs thanked outgoing players Sergio Reguilon, Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman, and Timo Werner, who will all leave the club at the end of their contracts next month.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s loan to Marseille will become permanent.

Werner, who spent the second half of the season at Tottenham, will return to parent club RB Leipzig after a mixed spell in North London.

The statement read: “We thank Fraser, Sergio, Alfie and Timo for their service and wish them well for the future.”

However, questions remain over the future of manager Ange Postecoglou.

Despite a Europa League title, Tottenham slumped to their worst Premier League campaign in years, leaving Postecoglou’s future at the club uncertain.

Clarification is expected soon over the Australian’s role at the club, with Spurs needing to reinforce ahead of their return to the Champions League next term.
