Paul Scholes says Manchester United look like an βuncoached teamβ and that there is no discernible philosophy under Erik ten Hag.
Former United midfielder Scholes, who won 11 Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson, lashed out after watching Tottenhamβs comprehensive 3-0 win at Old Trafford yesterday which has ramped up the pressure on Ten Hag.
Although the Dutchman cited the 42nd-minute dismissal of captain Bruno Fernandes as a turning point, United were disorganised from the outset and Scholes blamed Ten Hag and his coaching team.
Speaking on SuperSport, he said: βYou donβt know how theyβre going to play.
βYou donβt know how theyβre going to approach games, whether they are going to play on the counter-attack or sit deep or whether theyβre going to try to have all the possession in the game. Weβve no idea. They look like an uncoached football team.β

Postecoglou’s Spurs highlight United problems
The contrast yesterday with Spurs was marked with the visitors successfully implementing Ange Postecoglouβs high-intensity, high-press tactics.
Scholes added: βWeβre two and a bit years in nowβ¦from the first week Ange Postecoglou went in, we probably knew what Tottenham were doing and theyβre doing it to this day.
βWeβre two and a bit years down the road [at United] and, as I said, itβs an uncoached team.
βThe players looked dead, they looked flat, they looked, βI donβt know what to doβ, thereβs no enthusiasm for the game of football and that can only come from the training pitch.
βSome of the positions that people take up on the pitch, itβs just madness at times.β
Scholes also felt the players could be doing more. He said: βThese are experienced players who United have paid a lot of money for.
βWe need to stop hearing excuses and get on that training pitch and find a way of playing.
βFind something, give us something.β
