Liverpool have reportedly told Barcelona that forward Luis Díaz is not for sale following an approach for the Colombia international from the LaLiga champions.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is a known admirer of Diaz, who scored 17 goals in all competitions for Liverpool in 2024-25, with 13 of them coming in the Premier League as the Reds cantered to a record-tying 20th English league title.

But Diaz is not expected to renew a contract that runs until the end of the 2026-27, sparking talk of an imminent exit for the player who joined from Porto in 2022.

However, Liverpool apparently have no desire to lose Diaz ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with multiple reports claiming they have rebuffed an approach from Barca.

Diaz is also said to have attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, but right now it appears he will remain on Merseyside and form part of an attack to which Liverpool could soon add Germany forward Florian Wirtz.

Arne Slot’s men are the frontrunners to sign Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal expected to be worth £109million.

If and when that transfer does go through, Wirtz will join a forward line led by the enduring brilliance of Mohamed Saleh, who tied the Premier League record for goal involvements in 2024-25 with 47, scoring 29 times and providing 18 assists.

After much speculation, Salah signed a contract extension with Liverpool to keep him at the club until at least the end of 2026-27.

However, Uruguay forward Darwin Nunez is widely expected to depart following another unconvincing season from the former Benfica striker.
