Nuno Tavares

Nuno Tavares has left Arsenal to join Serie A side Lazio.

The left-back, who has one cap for Portugal, joined Arsenal in July 2021 from Benfica.

He made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners but spent the last three seasons out on loan.

Nuno had spells at Marseille and Nottingham Forest before joining Lazio for the 2024-25 season.

Lazio’s loan move for Nuno included an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met.

Those requirements were met as Nuno made 30 appearances in all competitions for a Lazio side that finished seventh in Serie A in 2024-25.

Lazio missed out on a place in Europe as they finished level on points with Fiorentina, who finished sixth courtesy of their superior head-to-head record over Maurizio Sarri’s side.

Arsenal have yet to make a signing so far in the transfer window. They have been linked with the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Leroy Sane and Viktor Gyokeres as they seek to become more clinical in the final third.

Mikel Arteta’s men finished 10 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race, with the lack of a proven goalscorer up front viewed as their biggest failing.
