Liverpool have been handed a big boost with right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold returning to training ahead of their Premier League match against Leicester on Sunday.
The 26-year-old has been sidelined since picking up an ankle injury during Liverpool’s Champions League last-16 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in March.
His recovery marks a positive step for the Reds as they approach the final stretch of the campaign and look to close the title up, but tensions are high around the England international’s future.
Head coach Arne Slot had remained cautiously optimistic in recent weeks, previously admitting that he expected Alexander-Arnold to feature again before the season’s finale – though he did not provide a definitive return date.
But with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, questions continue to swirl around whether he’ll remain on Merseyside.
According to reports, the England international is said to be in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid regarding a potential free transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
As it stands, Liverpool lead the Premier League table 13 points over second-place Arsenal, with only six games left to play.

A win against Leicester could see them clinch their 20th top-flight title – but that would require Arsenal to lose to Ipswich Town earlier in the day.
However, all eyes will be on Alexander-Arnold and his reception on a return to the pitch.
With Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk both set to extend their deals beyond the season, it may not be the one he is hoping for.
