Paris FC have no plans to attempt to lure Kylian Mbappe back to his home city in the coming years despite significant financial backing and their promotion to Ligue 1.

Stephane Gilli’s side ended the club’s 36-year wait for a return to the top flight with a 1-1 draw at Martigues last Friday.

Paris FC, formed after a split from Paris Saint-Germain in 1972, will next season play their home games at Stade Jean-Bouin, the home of the Stade Francais rugby team.

That stadium is just across the street from PSG’s Parc des Princes home, and Ligue 1’s dominant force have reason to expect their new neighbours could pose a threat in the not too distant future.

French billionaire Bernard Arnault officially bought a controlling 52.4 percent stake in the club in November, with Red Bull also buying a minority stake in the club to oversee the sporting structure.Β

Even with that investment, the club is not looking to land huge stars such as former PSG talisman Mbappe, who left for Real Madrid last June.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Michel Denisot, a member of Paris FC’s administrative council, said: “The idea is not to bring Mbappe back to Paris.

“The idea is rather to build a team of players coming, as much as possible, from the Paris region.”

Paris FC will have a budget of between €70million t0 €100million for the club’s first season in Ligue 1 since the 1978-79 campaign.

Gilli’s men round off their Ligue 2 campaign on Saturday against Ajaccio. Victory, combined with defeat for leaders Lorient against Martigues, would send Paris FC up as champions.
