Real Madrid have confirmed Endrick has suffered a hamstring injury, with reports in Spain suggesting it will see him miss the Club World Cup.
Endrick sustained the injury in Madrid’s 2-0 win at Sevilla last week.
A statement from the club read: “Following tests carried out today on our player Endrick by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the conjoint tendon in his right hamstring. His recovery will be assessed.”
Though Madrid did not confirm a timescale for Endrick’s recovery, the Brazil forward will reportedly be sidelined for around two months.
That would see him miss the revamped 32-team Club World Cup, with the inaugural tournament kicking off next month in the United States.
Madrid have been drawn in Group H alongside Al Hilal, Red Bull Salzburg and Pachuca.
They start their campaign against Al Hilal on June 18.
Teenager Endrick has scored seven goals in 37 appearances (eight starts) in all competitions this season, his first with the club after moving from Palmeiras. Five of his goals came in Madrid’s run to the Copa del Rey final.
Real Madrid will round off their LaLiga campaign against Real Sociedad on Saturday, which will be Carlo Ancelotti’s final game in charge.
Ancelotti will continue to coach Endrick, however, as the Italian will take over as the new coach of Brazil.
