Barcelona are on the verge of becoming LaLiga champions once more after Real Madrid fell behind to Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Anything but a win will confirm the Catalan club as the victors, snatching the title away from their Spanish rivals who have lacked the firepower that they possessed last term.

Mallorca have scored the fourth fewest goals in La Liga this season, but made no mistakes when it came to fashioning a fast start in the capital.

Centre-back Martin Valjent was on hand inside the Madrid box just 11 minutes into the game and smashed the ball past Thibaut Courtois, silencing the grand stadium and boosting his side’s European hopes.

Should the scoreline remain unchanged, Madrid will sit on 75 points, seven behind Barca with two games to go.

It would allow Hansi Flick’s men to put their feet up and coast to the end of the campaign, where the celebrations are sure to be jubilant.

But there is still a lot of time left in the game for Madrid to pull something back and with the talent they possess on the pitch, there will be no panic just yet from Carlo Ancelotti.
