Martinelli completes £60m move from Arsenal to Al Hilal

Gabriel Martinelli has completed his move from Arsenal to Al Hilal.

The £60million transfer, which is subject to the completion of regulatory processes, sees the Brazil forward end his seven-year stay with the Gunners.

In that time Martinelli has won three trophies, making 30 appearances in the Premier League last season as Arsenal won the title for the first time since 2004.

The 25-year-old scored only once in the Premier League in 2025-26 but was more prolific in the Champions League, netting six times and providing two assists as Arsenal reached the final, where they lost to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

Martinelli also won the FA Cup and the Community Shield during his career in North London.

Having joined from Ituano in 2019, Martinelli scored 62 goals in 278 appearances for Arsenal.

However, he was not included in the squad for this year’s Community Shield win over Manchester City, nor did he feature in the match day group for the Premier League wins over Coventry City and Aston Villa.

Now he will join an Al Hilal side that sit joint-top of the Saudi Pro League having claimed four wins from four to start the new season.

Martinelli is the third former Premier League player to join Al Hilal during the Saudi transfer window, which does not close until October 12. They also signed Ollie Watkins from Villa and Crysencio Summerville from West Ham.
