Real Madrid will hope to claim their first win of the 2025 Club World Cup when they face Mexican side Pachuca.

Madrid were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw by Al Hilal in Xabi Alonso’s first game in charge.

Los Blancos were without Kylian Mbappe for that contest in Miami, the France forward having since been diagnosed with gastroenteritis.

Again deprived of the France forward’s services, Alonso has made one change to the starting XI from the Al Hilal game.

That change sees Arda Guler come in for Rodrygo.

Guler will take the Brazilian’s place in Madrid’s front three after impressing off the bench against Al Hilal.

Gonzalo Garcia deputised for Mbappe in Madrid’s Group H opener and scored only his second goal for the club.

He once again leads the line for Madrid, flanked by Guler and Vinicius Junior.

Real Madrid: Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Asencio, Huijsen, Fran Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Guler, Gonzalo Garcia, Vinicius Junior.

Substitutes: Lunin (GK), Fran Gonzalez (GK); Vazquez, Rudiger, Jacobo, Youssef, Fortea, Aguado, Modric, Ceballos, Martin, Chema, Brahim Diaz, Rodrygo, Munoz.
