Match preview for Chelsea vs Everton
Chelsea are set to continue their push for a top-five finish in the Premier League when they host Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
Despite securing a late win over Fulham last weekend, manager Enzo Maresca remains under scrutiny – and will be absent from the touchline this weekend due to suspension.
Last Sunday’s West London derby looked like it would end in frustration for Chelsea, but late goals from Tyrique George and Pedro Neto turned the tide and sealed a 2-1 win over Fulham.
That result kept Chelsea’s unbeaten league streak alive, now at four games.
To aid their cause, Manchester City’s recent win over Aston Villa midweek also played into Chelsea’s hands. It kept the Blues in sixth place, just two points behind the top five.
However, Chelsea face a daunting final stretch with fixtures against Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest.
Their attention will also be split, with a Conference League semi-final against Djurgarden on the horizon.
Encouragingly, Chelsea boast a remarkable home record against Everton. They haven’t lost to the Toffees at the Bridge since 1994, a streak now stretching 29 league games – their longest ever unbeaten home run against any opponent.
Last season’s 6-0 demolition of Everton added to that record, although a goalless draw at Goodison Park just before Christmas denied Chelsea a chance to briefly top the table.

Team news Chelsea vs Everton
Right-back Malo Gusto could miss the rest of the campaign due to a muscle injury sustained at Fulham, joining long-term absentee Wesley Fofana on the sidelines.
Despite the upcoming European tie, Maresca is expected to field a full-strength lineup.
While Cole Palmer hasn’t scored in 16 appearances, he was the star of this fixture last season, netting four goals – the only player to do so against Everton in the 21st century – and remains a key figure in the starting XI.
James Tarkowski’s season appears over after he picked up a hamstring injury against Man City. Michael Keane, who replaced him, came under fire for his performance and may be dropped.
Armando Broja, on loan from Chelsea, is ineligible to face his parent club. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin still out, Beto is expected to lead the attack.

Prediction
While Chelsea are far from consistent, their home dominance over Everton is difficult to overlook. This could mark the 30th straight unbeaten home match against the Toffees.
Everton have shown resilience under Moyes, but their season appears to be winding down.
With Chelsea still fighting on multiple fronts, they are expected to edge what could be a tight, low-scoring contest, especially given that 12 of Everton’s 16 away matches have featured two goals or fewer.
Prediction: Chelsea 1-0 Everton
